The FINANCIAL — Wincor Nixdorf is expanding its portfolio for optimizing cash processes at bank branches with the new version of its cash management software “ProCash Analyzer”. The aim of the software is to ensure both permanent availability of cash and cost-optimized filling of all cash points of a bank.
According to Wincor Nixdorf , the software solves complex challenges – for example, the optimization of cash holdings in branch safes – by processing a large number of variables. Moreover, the ProCash Analyzer calculates the ideal disposal and supply cycles for cash recycling machines. In order to meet these complex requirements, the ProCash Analyzer integrates ILOG CPLEX, ILOG’s market-leading optimization software.
"For years, Wincor Nixdorf has been successfully supporting financial institutions with software solutions for optimizing cash processes. There are many factors that must be considered in finding the best solution. Examples include optimum cash holdings and replenishment quantities that depend on the average number of transactions, order proposals for cash replenishment, consideration of insurance regulations relating to filling levels, cost optimization during cash transportation and in replenishment processes, and public holidays and special occasions where locally high transaction volumes are anticipated." Wincor Nixdorf reports.
Wincor Nixdorf announces, that the new version “ProCash Analyzer 3.0” based on ILOG CPLEX now also ensures end-to-end optimization of all network cash points, such as automated teller machines, teller positions, cash recycling machines or branch safes. There is a special focus on cash logistics. For example, different replenishment and disposal concepts can be controlled optimally, incorporating multiple CiT operators. The solution is rounded out by support for order management – for example, the current status of an order can be shown at any time – plus account reconciliation and extensive reports.
According to Wincor Nixdorf , Wincor Nixdorf relies on a flexible usage concept oriented to customers’ wishes: the “ProCash Analyzer” can either be installed at the bank, or the bank can use the program as an external service. As a result, customers can obtain a tailor-made cash management concept.
"In addition to incorporating ILOG CPLEX, ProCashAnalyser 3.0 also relies on developmental contributions from the Technical University of Darmstadt. With the university’s support, it is possible to estimate the quality of a solution using mathematical methods (integer programming). That means that the potential for improvement resulting from optimization can be determined, thus simplifying decisions on the value of leveraging this potential." Wincor Nixdorf adds.
