The FINANCIAL — Despite the tight economic situation Georgian companies promise to please their partners by giving them corporate gifts for the New Year. Companies believe that corporate gifts help to create a stronger brand name, underlining their special relationship with customers.
Bank of Georgia and TBC Bank have already started production of their very special gifts.
“We make corporate gifts for all of our client companies at New Year,” says Natia Gotsadze, PR Manager of TBC Bank.
“Last New Year the presents we gave to different companies included: TBC Bank branded business diaries, branded clocks, branded Christmas tree toys, a DVD of Georgian cartoons, wine, sweets and other things,” says Gotsadze.
Elit Electronics spent about GEL 35,000 on Christmas gifts last year.
“New Year cakes and branded wines were the gifts that we gave different companies last New Year. The New Year sweets and gifts were produced by Paneteria, Rossali and Teliani Valley,” says Ia Gogoladze, Advertising Manager of Elit Electronics.
According to Natia Khabeishvili, PR Manager of PSP, they gave New Year gifts to more than 100 local and foreign companies last December.
“The sum of corporate gifts that we gave to different companies last year was or about GEL 25,000. Among the gifts that we gave as presents to the companies were wall calendars, cards, sweets, wine, and corporate attributes like pens, business diaries and so on,” Khabeishvili told The FINANCIAL.
“This year we will try to be innovative in choosing gifts for the companies, and we will probably spend the same sum on them,” Khabeishvili says.
“Our company gave about 200 gifts. Our corporate gifts included Telavi Gvinis Marani wine, chocolates, sweets, glasses, pens and business diaries. All the gifts were decorated with the Redix logo. I will keep secret the gifts we will give as presents this year,” says Mzia Sharashidze, PR Manager of company Radix.
According to Lika Mikautadze, PR manager of company Populi, last year they sent gifts to 50 companies, spending GEL 100 on each present.
“We traditionally celebrate New Year at our company,” Ia Gogoladze says.
“For the New Year 2009 we celebrated in the presentation hall of our office, specially decorated for the New Year. For the New Year 2008 we celebrated very extravagantly with a party of 3,000 guests. We had special programmes and gifts for our employees, their family members, partner company representatives and other invited guests,” Ia Gogoladze says.
According to Gogoladze, they are going to celebrate this New Year too but the event will be smaller in comparison to last year.
PSP will celebrate New Year in the Tbilisi Event Hall.
“We did not celebrate last New Year, because in the year 2008 Georgia experienced the losses and tragedy of war and we thought that it was not appropriate to celebrate the New Year very extravagantly,” says Khabeishvili, PSP.
