The FINANCIAL — Winter ski season was officially opened at the resort Goderdzi, in the highlands of Adjara.
The CEO of the Mountain Resorts Development Company of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Sandro Onoprishvili and Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze attended the opening ceremony of the ski resort.
As it was noted at the opening ceremony, a new phase of the development plan of the resort Goderdzi has been launched. At this stage, construction of 6 high-level hotel complexes is underway at the mountain ski resort, the total investment cost of which is about 80 million GEL. New projects will add 500 new jobs and 435 locations for the resort.
Within the framework of the opening ceremony, Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Adjara Autonomous Republic also signed 4 new investment projects with four companies, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
During the winter season of 2017 – 2018, two large chairlifts (Gondola and Bubble type) will operate for tourists on the resort Goderdzi. In addition to the children zone and fast food outlets, two new chairlifts, 200-meter long stirrup and 80-meter long rolling carpet have been added to the new season’s skiing infrastructure.
The total length of the Goderdzi ski road is 8 km while the height from the sea level is 2366 meters.
Within the development of the resort, in addition to installation of lighting poles, 1761-meter long internal roads and drainage channels were arranged. The new road connects the central motorway with investment land plots.
The opening ceremony was held at Gondola’s lower station, where several activities were organized throughout the day.
