The FINANCIAL — “In 2010 we will open 15 new gasoline stations,” Samson Pkhakadze, Chairman of Wissol Supervisory Board, told The FINANCIAL. Pkhakadze said company invested GEL 20 million in business development in 2009. Wissol opened four new petrol stations last week.
“The opening of new petrol stations is very important for us, as first of all it means an increased number of our workers,” Vasil Khorava, General Director of Wissol Petroleum Georgia, tells.
“For each petrol station we hire 15-20 workers. With more than 2,000 staff members Wissol is the leading employer among oil companies in Georgia.”
The company currently holds over 75 petrol stations around Georgia.
In November 2009, Wissol Petroleum Georgia, alongside six other Georgian companies, entered the so-called Gold List nominated by the Georgian Government. With this the company was permitted to use privileged terms of the Customs-Trade Partnership Programme.
The Gold List Programme helps member companies in a simplified relationship with the Revenue Service of The Ministry of Finance.
“Being on the Gold List, we have managed to save a solid sum of expenses. All these fiscals will be used for the development of our network. Wissol is opening four new gasoline stations this week. We are repatriating all profit to our company,” Pkhakadze, notes.
Wissol has an impressive list of over 3,000 corporate customers among them international and local private companies, government organizations, ministries, most of the embassies, diplomatic representations, etc.
In 2009 the sales of Italian fuel API increased by 35%. The management of the company predicts that for 2010 sales of API will reach 50% of the total sales of the company.
