The FINANCIAL — Wizz Air on May 31 announced a new route from Vilnius to Nice in southern France. The new service will commence on 3 August and operate with two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Located on the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur), Nice is a popular destination for vacationers both young and old. It is famous for its stunning beachfront promenade, outstanding architecture and world-class restaurants.
Since Wizz Air’s first Vilnius flight in 2011, over 3 million passengers have flown with WIZZ to and from Lithuania. Wizz Air is now the leading airline at Vilnius International Airport and has four aircraft and 149 employees based in the Lithuanian capital. In 2015, WIZZ carried nearly one million passengers on its low fare Vilnius routes, supporting over 700 local jobs. Underlining its commitment to the country, the airline has recently launched operations from Kaunas and Palanga, according to Wizz Air.
With its newest service to France, Wizz Air now offers a total of 29 routes to 14 countries from Lithuania.
