The FINANCIAL — Wizz Air on October 25 celebrates the major milestone of 13 million passengers carried on its low-fare Warsaw services over the past 12 years.
WIZZ’s lucky 13 millionth passenger, Katarzyna, who happened to fly from Warsaw Chopin to Budapest, was surprised with a return ticket valid on all of the airline’s 41 exciting Warsaw routes. Â
Warsaw was one of Wizz Air’s first airports in 2004. Since its first flight, WIZZ constantly expanded its operations bringing opportunities through affordable travel to an ever-growing number of Polish passengers.  In 2015, Wizz Air carried more than 1,5 million passengers on its low-fare Warsaw routes, supporting over 1000* local jobs, according to Wizz Air.
Wizz Air has now over 200 customer-oriented crew and six aircraft–including two state-of-the-art Airbus A321ceos – based at Warsaw Chopin Airport. With 230 seats on board, the Airbus A321ceo is the most efficient single-aisle passenger aircraft. Its superior operating economics mean that WIZZ offers more seats to more destinations at WIZZ’s lowest fares at the same time as delivering the lowest emissions and noise footprint in its class.
Wizz Air has recently added such popular leisure destinations to its Warsaw network as Eilat in Israel, Porto in Portugal, Reykjavik in Iceland and Naples in Italy. Â
Wizz Air now offers 141 routes to 59 destinations from its eight Polish airports.
Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said:”We are happy to celebrate this memorable milestone with Chopin Airport. Warsaw was one of the first cities Wizz Air brought its low fares to in 2004 and during 12 successful years over 13 million passengers flew with WIZZ to and from the Polish capital. This year we based an additional aircraft at Chopin Airport commencing several new routes and bringing even more low fares and opportunities to Poland. With two new Airbus A321 in our Warsaw fleet, we remain committed to Polish customers and keep on delivering low fares paired with excellent customer experience. Whether travelling on business or leisure, we look forward to welcoming our Warsaw passengers on board to enjoy our friendly services travelling to any of our 41 exciting WIZZ destinations.”
