The FINANCIAL — On 3-5 July 2015, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimer Gurgenidze, who is on his visit to the Hellenic Republic, held meetings in Thessaloniki to get acquainted with the work of Georgia’s General Consulate in Thessaloniki and to hold meetings with the Georgian Diaspora organisations working there.
Vladimer Gurgenidze provided them with the information on activity of Georgia’s diplomatic missions and consular offices in Greece against a background of financial crisis in the country, as well as on the meetings held with the officials of Greece. Members of the Georgian Diaspora organisations, in turn, informed Vladimer Gurgenidze on their needs and the problems they are facing due to the financial crisis. Representatives of the General Consulate and Diaspora expressed their readiness to hold meetings on a regular basis.
In the frames of the working visit, Vladimer Gurgenidze held meetings in Athens. The visit was aimed at getting acquainted with the current developments, holding meetings with Georgian nationals living in Greece and insuring the effective work of Georgia’s diplomatic missions and consular offices, according to MFA Georgia.
