The FINANCIAL — At the invitation of the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili, the President of Ukraine, H.E. Petro Poroshenko has paid a state visit to Georgia.
The President, the First Lady and the state delegation of Ukraine have been greeted by the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava, the Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Abashishvili, the Advisor to the President of Georgia for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tengiz Pkhaladze and other state officials at Tbilisi International Airport.
The official reception will be held today, on July 18, at the Presidential Palace, following which the two presidents will hold meetings in tete-a-tete and extended formats. After the meetings, they will hold a press conference and make joint media statements. The press conference will be followed by the ceremony of signing a bilateral document.
The President of Ukraine will lay a wreath at the memorial in the Heroes Square, commemorate those soldiers, who have fallen in fight for Georgia’s territorial integrity and visit the Soviet Occupation Museum, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
The President of Ukraine, together with Ukrainian businessmen, will take part in Georgia-Ukraine Business Forum as well. As a part of his state visit, President Poroshenko will also hold meetings with the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
On July 19, President Poroshenko, together with President Margvelashvili, will visit the occupation line in Khurvaleti village.
On the same day, he will visit Svaneti and Adjara.
In Mestia, President Poroshenko will explore the house museum of Margiani family, the Museum of History and Ethnography and traditional Svan Tower.
In Batumi, he will meet with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Mr. Zurab Pataradze. The two presidents will open the Georgia-Ukraine Investment Forum in Batumi and take part in its activities.
