The FINANCIAL -- The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze stated at the briefing following the signing ceremony of the Free Trade Agreement in Hong Kong: “I am pleased that the Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and Hong Kong was signed within the frames of the “One Belt, One Road” summit. Let me thank the Hong Kong side for successful negotiations that we have completed in a very short time. Both Georgia and Hong Kong are enjoying the open economy and I think that we have common understanding of many issues which led to accomplishment of the negotiations on the Agreement in such a short time. We are also very happy that this Agreement will enter into force by the end of this year.”
The signing of the FTA between Georgia and Hong Kong was one of the central events of the “One Belt, One Road” summit. The Summit was attended by over 3000 representatives of the governments and business sectors from different countries of the world.
“We will do our outmost to complete all the internal procedures for that purpose in order to give our producers, our exporters the opportunity to benefit from this Free Trade Agreement. This will be an opportunity for our entrepreneurs to use all the benefits that the Agreement envisages for them,” – the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.
