The FINANCIAL — Yahoo Canada has released its highly anticipated Year in Review, which highlights the top stories and people that captured Canadians’ attention in 2016.
This year’s most searched keywords and news stories knew no bounds; Canadians were equally intrigued by distinctly Canadian topics like Celine Dion and The Blue Jays as they were with international issues including Brexit and the Zika virus, according to Yahoo.
“Canadians are known for being compassionate, open-minded people so it’s no surprise that we were concerned with human interest stories from around the world,” says Noel Hulsman, Head of Media for Yahoo Canada. “Canadians wanted to dig deeper into these trending stories, and Yahoo allows them to do that with compelling, engaging and culturally-relevant content.”
