The FINANCIAL — President Viktor Yanukovych is confident that implementation of the administrative reform should start in 2010, he announced in an interview with Inter TV channel, broadcasted during the Podrobnosti Nedeli [Week in Details] programme on December 5.
"We have been working on the administrative reform for six months already. This budget has to take into account the administrative reform. We need to reduce the government machinery substantially. We'll be taking a decision this year," the head of state said.
This reform is necessary to resist corruption, axe bureaucracy, and to cut down the costs on marinating them, Yanukovych stressed.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Iryna Akimova, First Deputy Chief of the President's Staff, predicts the committee for economic reforms under the president in December will convoke a session to deal with reformation of the bodies of state executive power.
Chief of the President's Staff, Serhii Liovochkin, expects staff changes at the Cabinet of Ministers after Yanukovych completes work on the administrative reform.
