The FINANCIAL — President Viktor Yanukovych has left on an official visit to Brussels, Belgium.
Yanukovych is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Petro Poroshenko, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Hanna Herman, and Head of the Administration Serhii Liovochkyn.
During their visit, Yanukovych plans to meet with President of the European Union Herman van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek, and Catherine Ashton High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
This is the first foreign visit of new president of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on February 25, the European Parliament approved Ukraine's right to submit applications for membership of the EU.
