The FINANCIAL — Newly-elected president and leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych is sure that the Verkhovna Rada will manage to form pragmatic majority, he told the Podrobnosti Nedeli programme on Inter TV channel.
He said he intends to hold talks with the representatives of all parliamentary factions to create new coalition.
Yanukovych also said that trust showed by people obliges him to unite all parliamentary political forces.
At the same time, he said that to reach this target, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko should resign.
Yanukovych also expressed hope for constructive position of most of Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc deputies in the issue of Verkhovna Rada functioning.
Yanukovych also said that one of the tasks he aims is the speediest formation of the new Cabinet of Ministers.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on February 14, the Central Election Commission announced Yanukovych the Ukrainian president.
Ta obtained 48.95% of votes and Yulia Tymoshenko – 45.47%.
