The FINANCIAL — President Viktor Yuschenko has refused to sign the law obliging the National Bank of Ukraine to channel UAH 9.8 billion for the preparations for Euro 2012, official presidential website reads.
«I cannot sign the law of August 21, 2009 under No.1608-VI «On the amendments into the Ukrainian law «On the state budget for 2009» and some other laws of Ukraine,» Yuschenko said.
The president suggests that the parliament again consider this law with his remarks in compliance with the Constitution.
Yuschenko said that after the Verkhovna Rada has overridden his veto for this law, he vetoed it again.
The president said that if this law is published despite the procedure envisioned by the Constitution, he will have to appeal against it at the Constitutional Court.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on October 6, the Verkhovna Rada asked Yuschenko to sign the law obliging the NBU to channel UAH 9.8 billion for Euro 2012.
On August 21, the Verkhovna Rada overrode Yuschenko's veto to the law obliging the NBU to transfer UAH 9.8 billion for the preparations for Euro 2012.
