The FINANCIAL — President Viktor Yuschenko intends to veto the law on the amendment of the law on the presidential elections if the wording is similar to one endorsed by the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading, presidential press secretary Iryna Vannikova said at a press conference.
Vannikova said that the alleged amendments limit the right to election and the right to appeal against the results of the presidential elections.
Vannikova said that Yuschenko estimates these amendments as another attempt of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and Party of Regions factions to usurp power.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on July 1, the Verkhovna Rada endorsed the bill No.4741 to cut the terms for the presidential election campaign from 120 to 90 days.
