The FINANCIAL — President Viktor Yuschenko has worsened his forecast for the first quarter GDP fall at 6 to 9 percentage points to 20% – 23% in January – March 2009.
He said this addressing the Power and Business Partners Forum
«The first quarter gross domestic product will drop 20% -23%,» the president said.
Yuschenko has repeatedly called on immediate amending the 2009 state budget.
As Ukrainian News reported, Yuschenko predicted a 14%-drop in GDP in January – March 2009.
The international Monetary Fund forecast an 8% to 10% fall in GDP if this country’s authorities keep inactive.
The Cabinet of Ministers estimated GDP growth by 0.4% in 2009.
