The FINANCIAL — Potential home sellers in Atlanta can now use Zillow Offers to request an offer from Zillow to buy their home.
Atlanta is the third market – and first in the Eastern United States – where Zillow directly buys homes, prepares them for showings, and quickly lists them for resale. Zillow Offers has been available in Phoenix and Las Vegas since the spring. A fourth market, Denver, will launch later this fall.
Designed to give consumers more convenience and certainty in the home-selling process, Zillow Offers provides an opportunity for homeowners to sell their house on their own timeline. Zillow’s research shows that 71 percent of sellers are simultaneously buying a home, adding stress, timing and financial complexity to what is one of the largest financial transactions of their lives.
With Zillow Offers, consumers receive a service to help reduce the stress and uncertainty usually involved in home selling. Starting today, potential home sellers in the Atlanta area can request a free, no-obligation cash offer from Zillow to purchase their home. If the offer is accepted, the homeowner decides on the closing date and Zillow conducts a free home inspection to finalize the offer. The homeowner can complete a Zillow Offers sale without having to host open houses, avoiding the extra work and time associated with preparing a home for showings that would normally occur with a traditional sale.
Similar to Phoenix and Las Vegas, Zillow will partner with local brokerages and Premier Agents in Atlanta, giving them the opportunity to acquire new seller leads as part of Zillow Offers. The two brokerages partnering with Zillow for the Atlanta launch are Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS) Georgia Properties and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers. The program gives real estate agents the opportunity to acquire new listings by connecting them with motivated sellers who have taken a direct action to sell their home. Consumers who request a Zillow Offer, but decide to instead sell their house traditionally with an agent or do not receive a Zillow Offer, will be connected with a local brokerage or Premier Agent.
Finally, Zillow pays a commission to real estate agents when it buys and sells each home, and agents remain at the center of every transaction Zillow is a part of.
