The Georgian Chant Foundation organized a second hearing of the choir nominated for the Artem Erkomaishvili International Prize at the State Folklore Center.
The prize was established in 2016 and is awarded every two years to reveal the best scientific research in the field of chanting. The prize fund of the competition is 20 000 GEL.
The Georgian Chant Foundation will present the researchers and performers who won the 2021 award in the near future.
In the second round, 5 teams presented themselves:
Choir of Mtatsminda Father David Church
Choir Trio “Ascension”
Choir Trio “Artem”
Ensemble “Perkhi” girls team
Ensemble “Perkhi” boys team
It is also notable, that the competition, which is an important part of the development and popularization of Georgian songs and folk art, was not delayed during the pandemic.
