Hunter recorded his third interception of the 2024 season during the first quarter of Saturday afternoon’s matchup against the Utes. The wide receiver/cornerback combo player picked off Utah quarterback Isaac Wilson off a deflection, grabbing a takeaway for Deion Sanders‘ Colorado program.
Hunter sent a clear message to the college football world after this interception, hitting a Heisman pose celebration for the home crowd in Boulder.
Heading into Saturday afternoon’s matchup against Utah, Hunter had reeled in 69 catches for 856 yards and an NCAA-leading nine touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 21 tackles, seven passes defended and two interceptions.
At this point in the 2024 college football season, Hunter’s competition for the Heisman Trophy includes Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Miami QB Cam Ward.
