The FINANCIAL — On September 1, Lise Kingo officially assumes the role of Executive Director of the UN Global Compact.
Ms. Kingo, who was appointed by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 25 June 2015, brings with her a wealth of experience and passion, coupled with extensive knowledge and understanding of strategic leadership and implementation of corporate sustainability, according to Global Compact.
Prior to joining the UN Global Compact, Ms. Kingo was Chief of Staff, Executive Vice-President and member of the Executive Management at Novo Nordisk A/S for 12 years. At Novo Nordisk, she oversaw the company’s participation in the UN Global Compact from the earliest days of the initiative and led the way to integrate sustainability into the heart of the business by collaborating with key external stakeholders and engaging employees internally. She also has experience across a range of business functions including human resources, business assurance, corporate communications, branding, public affairs and innovation culture. Previously, Ms. Kingo served at NovoZymes A/S for 12 years, holding various positions including Director of Environmental Affairs.
