The FINANCIAL — On 14 September 2015, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Greece Ioseb Nanobashvili presented his credentials to President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, according to MFA Georgia.
At the meeting following the presentation ceremony, the President reaffirmed his country’s strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. Ioseb Nanobashvili thanked the President for contribution Greece has made to the policy of non-recognition of Georgia’s occupied territories and for support of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Significance of maintaining and strengthening historically friendly ties between Greek and Georgian was underlined. Ioseb Nanobashvili also focused on the issue of timely completion of ratification of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the EU by Greece. The sides also emphasised the need to intensify bilateral economic relations and ties between business circles of the two countries.
Prokopis Pavlopoulos reaffirmed Greece’s support for Georgia’s foreign agenda, underlined brotherly relations established between Georgian and Greek peoples and focused on challenges Europe has been currently facing in terms of migration and Greek crisis.
