The FINANCIAL — The leader of Georgian internet providers, Caucasus Online’s worked-out plan about creating jobs for students has entered its finishing phase. The project was divided into two parts, the first part of which was fulfilled in December.
At this stage 400 hopefuls have become registered at the specially created website. After registration 200 students have actually done the testing. Their technical knowledge was verified and only 70 students were chosen and they are currently preparing for the second tour. Each candidate will have to do an interview and after overcoming these aspects, they will have the opportunity to get experience in the company. Qualified staff will be left at the Caucasus Online Company. Seven girls have already been chosen and they are already doing their classes at the company.
Caucasus Online’s project, creating vacancies, radically differs from other existing projects, what’s more the company cares about bring up its professionals itself.
Caucasus Online’s strategy is to bring in new staff and to renovate the staff base. On the other hand the company is trying to assist students of Tbilisi State University and Tbilisi Technical University in the making of their careers. Caucasus Online is trying to adjust the students’ professions to the real demands of the market.
“The Georgian educational system is preparing common professional specialists and such candidates are not properly suited to the vacancies as a rule. Besides that, the lack of qualified staff is clear. There do not exist staff suited to the post, which is apparent on the market. So the Georgian educational system and Georgian business must cooperate to get experienced and qualified staff for the future. Caucasus Online has already made its first step in the direction of the universities,” Maia Sanadiradze, General Director of Caucasus Online, declared.
According to the project, about 500 students will have the chance to take part in the testing process and in the first stage more than 300 students will occupy free positions. Those who do not occupy the vacated posts will get experience free of charge and the opportunity to get a job in the future. This will supposedly help them in creating their careers.
Caucasus Online plans to implement the second part of the project in the spring. According to the special plan 25 -30 students will take part in the testing process monthly and get a full time job in the company. The advantages will be given to those students who finish the baccalaureate course.
“The cooperation of Caucasus Online and Tbilisi Universities will surely be successful, it will be profitable for both parts, for education in general as well as for business and for those people who actually get a job,” Maia Sanadiradze declared.
The memorandum about the cooperation between Caucasus Online and education organizations was signed on December 20, 2007. On the same day the presentation of the project was held. The first testing was carried out on December 22, 2007.
