The FINANCIAL — More than 65 businesspeople from across Ukraine gathered in the city of Mykolaiv in September for a conference on standards and export potential for the food industry.
Organised by the EU4Business initiative, the event offered Ukrainian entrepreneurs an opportunity to meet leading international export experts, learn about opportunities for development in their industry and get acquainted with best practices for entering EU markets, according to EU Neighbours East Info.
Participants also found out about the requirements for product standardisation, the potential for exports to EU markets, and ways to increase the competitiveness of goods and obtain information on access to quality raw materials.
The EU’s EU4Business initiative assists small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the EU’s Eastern Partnership region with job creation and economic growth.
Together other organisations such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, it helps businesses overcome obstacles such as limited access to finance, burdensome legislation and difficulties entering new markets.
