The road closure is scheduled to be implemented at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28th. The eastbound portion of the road will remain fully closed throughout the duration of construction for this phase of the project, which will take approximately three months to complete. All of the businesses adjacent to the work area will remain open and provisions will be made to provide guidance to available public parking since the on-street spaces adjacent to the work area will not be accessible.
Although every effort will be made by the contractor to manage traffic along the designated detour routes, at times, there will be congested traffic conditions at the various signalized intersections where motorists will be directed to bypass the work zone. In order to better accommodate the increased traffic demand, the City has contacted the Broward County Traffic Engineering Division and the Florida Department of Transportation’s Arterial Management Program (AMP) staff who will assist in retiming the signals at the key signalized intersections along the detour’s roadway network.
