The FINANCIAL — On 4 October 2016, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Australia Vladimir Konstantinidi and Ambassador of Papua New Guinea to Australia Charles Lepani signed a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations.
According to this protocol, mutual relations between the two countries – which are both striving to establish mutually beneficial friendly relations – will be guided by the principles of national sovereignty, sovereign equality, territorial integrity and the inviolability of state borders.
The protocol was signed at the Embassy of Papua New Guinea in Australia, in the presence of Foreign Minister of Papua New Guinea, H.E. Rimbink Pato.
Having signed the protocol, the sides expressed their wish and readiness to develop friendly relations between the two countries on the basis of the fundamental norms and regulations of international law, according to MFA of Georgia.
Out of 191 UN members Georgia remains in diplomatic relations with 188 States. The Foreign Ministry continues to develop partner relations with all members of the international community with a view to observing the country’s interests on the world arena and to contributing into formation of the better international community.
