The FINANCIAL — At a meeting held in Athens the Georgian and Greek Prime Ministers spoke about the historically deep and friendly relations between Georgia and the Hellenic Republic.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras congratulated Georgia on the launch of visa-free travel with the EU reaffirming Greece’s firm support for Georgia’s European integration.
The sides spoke about the issues relating to bilateral co-operation providing the solid basis for the further development of relations in various areas, according to MFA of Georgia.
Special attention was paid to the high potential of economic co-operation between the two countries. The sides welcomed the conduction of the first meeting of the Georgia-Greece Intergovernmental Economic Commission, which, according to the Prime Ministers, will give a fresh impetus to co-operation between the two countries.
The Prime Ministers also spoke about the successful co-operation in the areas of culture and education. The Greek side openly expressed its interest in the Black Sea region. The sides agreed to give a fresh impetus to Greece-Georgia relations.
