• Tegeta X Global Brands – Partnership Beyond Borders – Tegeta’s international partners came to Tbilisi to attend the opening of the renovated service center and showroom
• The holding contributes to the development of an ecologically clean and green automobile industry with international standards and energy-efficient infrastructural projects
A new Tegeta service center was constructed at 6 University Street on one hectare of land, and boasts both Volvo Car Georgia and Tegeta Motors showrooms.
The opening ceremony of the new Tegeta Motors service center was held on December 16 – at an event designed to show off the new showroom, renovated and modernly equipped service center, and warehouse space.
The large-scale, multi-functional space is the first of its kind in the automotive sector of the region, serving customers with a new concept in a comfortable environment. Full servicing is available for light vehicles, including electric cars.
With the company’s energy-efficient strategy in mind, five electric chargers were installed in the courtyard of the showroom. Further, more than 700 solar panels were installed on the roof of the building and in the parking lot, able to generate up to half a megawatt of energy throughout the year. The renovation-construction of the automobile complex was implemented in partnership with TBC for two years.
Vakhtang Kacharava, executive director of Tegeta Holding: “We are thrilled to host our guests today in Tegeta’s new complex. The car service center is distinguished both by its concept and by the investment in it – 60 million GEL. We have been in the market for almost three decades, and our priority is to simplify car ownership for customers by offering a full range of automotive services.
“We consistently follow the changes in the auto industry, introducing them into our daily lives and responding to our customer’s expectations with high standards. In the first place, this implies the construction of service centers and showrooms built on concepts of future visions. Our new space in Vake is an example of this; a space where we have created more than 100 new jobs. The building fully complies with energy efficiency standards, with the solar panels generating 75% of the required energy, and has the appropriate energy efficiency certificate. Electric chargers are available in the parking area, too, fully complying with Tegeta’s sustainable development strategy.
“We believe that a customer-oriented approach builds trust and promotes long-term relationships between the company and clients. Ensuring constant growth and development, today, Tegeta has the first service hub in the Transcaucasia region and rightly boasts reliable business partners worldwide.”
The opening of the innovative service center was attended by members of the local authorities and embassies, international organizations, corporate customers, and media, while representatives of Tegeta’s international business partners also joined them in Tbilisi specially for the opening ceremony – members of Shell, Motul, Varta, Textar, Champion, and Bridgestone, with whom Tegeta Holding has been cooperating for some 25 years.
A special tour of the new showroom and service center was organized for the invited guests. The solar panels installed by Tegeta with the financial support of USAID also received an official opening ceremony.
After the official opening of its Vake branch, the Tegeta X Global Brands – Partnership Beyond Borders’ event continued at the nearby New Sports Palace, uniting representatives of Tegeta’s partner global brands and employees of the holding.
Prior to the gala concert, Vakhtang Kacharava addressed the audience and reviewed Tegeta’s 28-year development and future plans of the holding, before presenting a specially-made video of the history of Tegeta.
Tegeta Holding’s founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Temur Kokhodze, and VP and CEO, Bridgestone Middle East Africa, Jacques Fourier then awarded the employees of the company for their contribution to the partnership between Tegeta and Bridgestone.
The show continued with an unprecedented 52-meter LED screen putting on an impressive 1.5-hour digital artwork show – the first time laser mapping on an LED screen had been presented in Georgia.
A concert of Georgian folk dance and classical music was part of the ceremony. Choreographic dances were performed by renowned Georgian dance ensemble Erisioni, and the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Vakhtang Kakhidze, played for the 1500 guests.
The new showroom and concept
The new showroom and updated service center is distinguished among the 29 Tegeta service centers that the company owns across the country, being a multifunctional space offering Tegeta customers complex services – up to 50 vehicles at a time, while more than 250 vehicles can be serviced in total on a daily basis.
Tegeta customers can expect to be served by highly qualified mechanics using the latest modern equipment. Both fast and full service are available, as are two German-made car wash portals boasting water jet, laser or a robotic wash which cleans the surface of the vehicle without damaging it via modern brushes – even the hard-to-reach undercarriage can be cleaned by this device!
Sandro Nergadze, Director of Tegeta Motors: “Along with service demand, the customers’ expectations are ever increasing and changing. A high quality, modern vision is a necessity, and it is in accordance with this that we expand our network and provide our customers with an even higher standard of service. We have introduced a number of technical and process innovations, installing the latest equipment from European and American suppliers and, most importantly, we have completely changed the form of relationship in the service – all the details are taken care of by a properly trained service manager, and the car owner is handed over an extremely well-maintained car.”
Foundations for high-precision and modern devices were arranged in the service center, allowing for a reduced service time – German-made motor cranes and a modern American Hunter wheel alignment machine. The tire balancing device is equipped with vibration control, and with the vulcanization device, it is possible to remove and fit a tire without damaging the disc.
For safety, the updated service center is equipped with CO2 detectors – if the exhaust emitted from parked cars increases to a dangerous level, technical hoods start operating in enhanced mode. Along with security systems, a special focus was put on the construction and finishing materials:, for example, the floor was decorated with modern tiles, the main component of which is clay, making it not only environmentally friendly, but also durable and safe- perfect for such a high-traffic, industrial space.
The showroom and office space
The two-story building has a showroom on the first floor and office space above. Minimalistic solutions create a simple and bright environment fully, harmonized with the company’s style- with the accent on white and metal making the space both functional and cozy.
More comfort is brought with French-made, eco-friendly furniture, lighting systems with adjustable modes, and an energy-efficient heating-cooling adiabatic system.
Up to 80 working platforms and meeting rooms were arranged on the second floor of the building, boosting the office space to cover an area of 500 square meters.
Building and finishing materials were selected considering several criteria: quality, durability, safety and visuals, and energy-efficient stained-glass windows treated with special technology were installed.
Tegeta Holding has been operating in the market for 28 years. Throughout this period, the company has not only expanded its area of activities, but also created a high standard of car service across the region, becoming an example of quality in the field of transport.
