On the December 4, Nintendo will release Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light on Switch via the Nintendo eShop for $5.99. It will only be available to purchase until the 30th anniversary of the Fire Emblem series, on March 31, 2021.
First launched for Famicom in April 1990 in Japan, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light marks it’s first-ever Switch release the west.
Nintendo will also release a “Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition” at select retailers for $49.99, which will include a deluxe art book, replica game box with an instruction booklet and map, replica game pack art piece with game sleeve and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light digital game download, mini Nintendo Power collectable, and a collector’s box.
“The Fire Emblem series has grown into a saga enjoyed by fans for its strategic gameplay and memorable characters,” stated Nintendo of America senior vice president of sales and marketing Nick Chavez in a press release. “With Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, Nintendo Switch owners can now experience the game that started it all with enhanced features that make this timeless adventure available to everyone.”
