The FINANCIAL — A recent symposium on IPOs addressed subjects ranging from the conflicts of interest faced by investment banks to whether Google-style auctions will be used for future IPOs.

The keynote address was given by Professor Jay Ritter, and papers covered subjects as diverse as the conflicts of interest faced by investment banks, whether Google-style auctions will be used for furure IPOs, and how performance of IPOs should be measured.
Tim Jenkinson, Professor of Finance at Saïd Business School, who organised the event in conjunction the the European Financial Management Association remarked: "The symposium was a great success, bringing together the leading IPO researchers from around the world, along with practitioners from investment banks and stock exchanges. These sorts of focussed events are a great way of generating high-quality discussion and new research initiatives and collaborations".
