Oxford University's Saïd Business School has launched a new masters level diploma for executives who need a deeper understanding of how to manage people and organisations in order to develop their careers to the highest level.
The Oxford Diploma in Organisational Leadership is a twelve-month part-time modular programme and will begin in January 2009. Designed for practising managers who are taking on leadership and strategic responsibilities, it will enhance strategic management skills and develop leaders who can navigate the complexities of twenty-first century business.
Drawing on Oxford’s experience of educating leaders for more than 800 years, the Diploma combines the highest standards of academic rigour with a practical approach to the study of strategic management, organisational development and design, and leadership. The programme will provide the insight and knowledge needed to help managers realise their leadership potential and harness it for the competitive advantage of the organisation.
The Diploma is constructed around four modules in organisation development, organisational design, strategy, and leadership. The Oxford academics delivering the programme are engaged in boundary-extending research on key management issues – they include Owen Darbishire, Sue Dopson, Chris McKenna, Tim Morris, Marc Ventresca and Richard Whittington.
