This year marks the 5th anniversary of the TBC program Startuperi, which was created in 2017 to support new businesses and ideas. Business support for TBC is part of corporate social responsibility. The goal of the program Startuperi is to support and promote business start-ups in the country.
Since its inception, the Startuperi has implemented a number of projects, including the most important – TBC for the first time in Georgia, started financing start-up businesses, startups. So far, more than 315 million GEL has been issued as a loan to startups.
In turning an idea into a business, the Startuperi program offers people support in four areas: banking products, startup education, startup offerings, and media support. For 5 years now, more than 55,000 start-up businesses have benefited from various supports.
The Startuperi stands out with a number of its own projects and collaborations with other companies. Among its own projects are support for technology businesses – an application competition, which will be held for the fourth time this year, and a startup decree that has no analogues in the world. The Startup Decree was created for TBC employees, thus encouraging TBC to launch business initiatives among them.
Collaborations also feature support for street markets, giving new businesses the opportunity to move from online to physical space and connect directly with customers. Since 2019, up to 300 businesses have presented their products at street markets.
In partnership with Startuperi and Impact Hub Tbilisi, the Social Impact Award and Startup Pre-Accelerator program are held in Georgia, which help students initiate business ideas.
