The FINANCIAL — The volume of Aeroflot internet sales in September of this year came up to 8 million dollars, Aeroflot reported. More than 70% of sold tickets were paid for online via credit cards. Growth of sales is caused by expansion of number of routes where the technology of the electronic ticket is introduced.
Now in 40 directions of Aeroflot the tickets paid for online are marked as electronic, and passengers are relieved of necessity to receive paper air tickets. By the end of current year the paperless technology will be accessible on 60 directions of Aeroflot, and by June 1, 2008 all routes of Aeroflot will become electronic.
Aeroflot – the Russian airlines is one of the largest airline of Russia, it transports more than 7 million people a year, and together with affiliated companies almost 9 million, i.e. 23 % from the general number of passengers of the Russian air transport. With an air park in the amount of 81 aircrafts, it carries out its own flights to 93 destinations of 47 countries (302 flights a day overall). It supervises 51 % of the Russian market of regular international transportations and approximately 12 % of internal air transportations. The net profit for 2006 has made 7.9 billion ruble. Company reported that consolidated profit of Aeroflot group has made 258.1 million US dollar on IFRS.
