Another important event – “Toradze International Music Festival” was added to the classical music calendar. “Toradze Foundation” in collaboration with “Georgian Chanting Foundation” laid the foundation for the festival dedicated to the legendary Georgian pianists Davit and Lekso Toradzes, and for the first time in Georgia, they gifted the audience with a classical music festival of the highest standard.
Throughout the 9-day program, the event hosted world-class virtuosos. Classical music admirers had the opportunity to listen to legendary musicians working on the international stage and prominent Georgian performers.
The musical evening events were attended by such international performers as: the winner of the Grammy Award for the best instrumental performance, violinist Maxim Vengerov, virtuoso pianist working in the United States, Sergei Babayan, violinist Rustam Saitkulov and others. Vakhtang Kakhidze, Nikoloz Rachveli, Irma Svanadze, “Basiani” ensemble, Nino Katamadze, Eka Mamaladze, Nato Metonidze and others performed in front of the Georgian audience as well. The works of Beethoven, Prokofiev, Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and other legendary composers were performed within the framework of the festival.
In addition to the promoting Georgian and international culture, the festival serves an equally important goal – such as revealing and supporting young, talented musicians. Within the framework of the festival, young performers made an appearance on the stage, while famous musicians held master classes for students at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. As a result, the festival identified scholarship students, and one of the participants received an offer on the future cooperation from a well-known international university.
“Toradze International Music Festival” received a great response from both the public and international music experts. According to the organizers, the festival schedule has already been fully planned until 2026, which means that the format of the event will become even larger in the upcoming years.
As for the presenter of the festival, “Georgian Chanting Foundation” is owned by “Smart Capital Group” company. The foundation has been a partner of the various cultural events for a number of years, as supporting the art field and popularizing Georgian culture is its most important value.
