Uncharted Movie is OFFICIAL by Sony, Tom Holland’s look as Nathan Drake Revealed, Mark Walhberg and Antonio Banderas will costar.
Sony’s Long-awaited attempt to bring the beloved gaming series Uncharted to the big screen has officially entered production!
Tom Holland, who will be playing in a long-awaited film of Uncharted Game series has just shared the first look at his portrayal of treasure-hunter Nathan Drake. The pose is very similar to the cover of Uncharted 3.
What Hardcore fans would have instantly noticed is that in his portrayal, at least based on this photo, Nathan shirt still doesn’t have its iconic French tuck look. Otherwise, his outfit is essentially what we have seen from the games, however, he does look noticeably younger than in even the prequel Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
While the movie has been gestating forever while facing all sorts of delays off and on over the last decade, there is even more than the Holland Instagram tease, indicating that the movie is indeed coming to the cinemas.
The original Nathan Drake voice actor since the Playstation 3, Nolan North shared three new pictures from a recent visit to the set, including one of him talking to Tom Holland, while holland himself has even begun sharing the filming experience through his instagram posts, “Filming is going so well–the film is like everything I’ve ever dreamed it would be. I was such a huge fan of the game, and it’s been going so well. I do have the biggest bruise of all time on my leg, but it’s in a bit of a revealing area for Instagram Live. I think I would get shut down by Instagram. But it is a glorious bruise.”
That is all known about the Uncharted movie, which is due to hit theatres July 16, 2021, will be a prequel of sorts for the games.
The talks about the film production have been relevant forever, in fact for so long that at one point Mark Wahlberg was cast to play young Nathan Drake, but he will now instead portray Victor “Sully” Sullivan – Drake’s frequent travelling companion, occasional mentor, and father figure.
Directed by Filmmaker Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom), the Uncharted movie will also have Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali (Grey’s Anatomy), and Tati Gabrielle (The Owl House) also co-star.
Just before COVID-19 spread to the US, HBO had announced it had picked up a TV series based The Last of Us, another popular Naughty Dog series. The project is still reportedly moving forward with writing, though no major developments have come out since the initial announcement.
