Ear and hearing problems are one of the most common health issues. About 60% of problems can be detected at the primary care level. Integrating ear and hearing care into primary care is another step forward towards the Sustainable Development Goal of having health services accessible to all by 2030.
This is the main message of World Hearing Day – ear and hearing care for everyone.
A round table on the topic “Ear and hearing care for everyone” was organized by the “AI IA” Charitable Fund for Habilitation/Rehabilitation and Development of Hearing-Impaired Children and the Society of Otolaryngologists and neurosurgeons of Georgia at the “American Hospital Tbilisi” base.
Founded as part of the social responsibility direction of the investment holding, Smart Capital Group, the AI IA fund annually joins the international dates related to hearing, which are initiated by the World Health Organization and the Coalition for Global Hearing Health. The events planned as part of Hearing Week aim to raise awareness of relevant issues to give more people a voice on important hearing care issues.
“AI IA Foundation has been caring for hearing impaired children since 2016. We believe that every child deserves to have access to the services they need and to receive quality services,” said Nana Gotua, director of the Ai ia Foundation.
