The FINANCIAL — In 2014/15 MY the Ukrainian grain market is influenced by two opposing forces – the bearish trend on the world market, and increasing of the production costs for agricultural crops cultivation in terms of the domestic crisis on the other hand, declared Rodion Rybchinskiy, Head of Business Projects Division of APK-Inform Agency, on February 26 during his report “Market trends on the grain and oilseed markets in 2014/15 MY” at the round table discussion “Prospects for the harvest-2015: condition of winter crops and spring crops planting forecasts”.
Also, the expert noted that in the current season Ukraine provides nearly 10% of the world grain exports, which strengthened the country’s position on the global market, but at the same time, it strengthened the influence of world market environment on the domestic market situation in the country. Thus, the high global demand for wheat and barley caused increasing of the crops exports from Ukraine, but in turn, the growth of world carry-over stocks, and reduction of the demand for maize, contributed to decreasing of the export supplies of the Ukrainian grain, according to APK Inform-Agency.
