The FINANCIAL — On 23 June 2016, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini signed the Agreement between Georgia and the European Union on Security Procedures for Exchanging and Protecting Classified Information.
Mikheil Janelidze and Federica Mogherini assessed the signing of the Agreement as Georgia’s yet another step towards the integration with the European Union. According to Federica Mogherini, the EU’s readiness and wish to share the classified information to Georgia confirms that Georgia is a reliable partner to the European Union.
The signing of the Agreement between Georgia and the European Union on Security Procedures for Exchanging and Protecting Classified Information will significantly enhance the co-operation with the European Union in the security sphere.
The Agreement will fully enter into force as soon as the ratification procedures will have been finalised, according to MFA of Georgia.
