The FINANCIAL — Charlton House has been awarded a £5m multi-site catering contract with Thames Water, ahead of long-term incumbent BaxterStorey.
The five-year deal, which started on 3 October, sees a team of 23 Charlton House staff provide catering services to 2,100 people across five sites: three in Reading, one in Marlow and one in Swindon. BaxterStorey had held the contract for the past seven years.
Charlton House, which said that its offer is focused on fresh, locally sourced produce with a modern twist, is also managing a refurbishment project across some of the sites.
Managing director Caroline Fry described the win as prestigious and particularly exciting as it's on home ground.
"It has been an amazing year for us. We are well on the way to meeting our budgeted annual turnover figure of £30m," she added. "Despite a challenging and highly competitive marketplace, our emphasis on healthy food is winning through.
"We take our responsibility for feeding people at work extremely seriously and we will continue to invest in this area to ensure that our customers get the very best nutrition during their working day."
