The FINANCIAL — According to online magazine Civil Georgia, parliamentary Chairperson, Nino Burjanadze, wished the Russian president-elect, Dimitry Medvedev, “to have a desire” to democratize Russia.
“I think it [Medvedev’s victory] was not a big surprise,” Burjanadze told journalist on March 3. “I want to wish him [Medvedev] to have a desire that Russian-Georgian relations improve and to have a desire that Russia is not only a huge country, but also a democratic country, with which friendship and neighborhood is desirable.”
