The FINANCIAL — Delta’s new premium seat product and the airline’s Seattle lounge took top honors at 2017 The International Yacht & Aviation Awards in Venice, Italy, last week.
The wins come on the heels of the Delta One suite earning the prestigious Crystal Cabin Award in the highly coveted Cabin Concepts category at the 2017 Aircraft Interiors Expo in Germany in April.
“Continuing to be recognized by top design awards is incredibly special for all the Delta people who have worked over the years to bring the Delta One suite to life,” said Joe Kiely, Delta’s Managing Director – Product & Customer Experience. “Delta has always been customer focused, but the Delta One suite seat represents a culmination of our focus on innovation, design and thoughtful consideration for all features and customer touch points.”
The Delta One suite is part of the airline’s multi-billion dollar investment across the customer experience that includes a cabin modernization program featuring new seats, seatback entertainment systems with free entertainment, high-capacity overhead bins, access to Wi-Fi on nearly all flights, complimentary meals in the Main Cabin on select flights, upgraded free Main Cabin snacks, chef-curated meals in Delta One, a seasonal wine program and more, according to Delta.
The Seattle Delta Sky Club that opened in fall 2016 won the Airport Lounge category — a first for Delta.
“We are constantly striving to go above and beyond for our guests — providing one-of-a-kind experiences featuring local touches and designed to provide an environment all guests can find meaningful,” said Claude Roussel, Delta’s Managing Director – Delta Sky Club. “Being recognized with this award for the innovative ways we are transforming our airport lounges into reasons to fly Delta is a true honor.”
In the new Seattle Delta Sky Club, unique amenities keep travelers plugged in, comfortable and relaxed. From the first-class view to the local food and beverages, the club is a showcase of what Seattle and Delta has to offer.
Exclusive to the Seattle A/B club are:
•Spa services from Asanda Spa Lounge, featuring seated chair massages with guided meditation audio/video by Deepak Chopra in addition to a full line of spa and wellness products for purchase from Comfort Zone and Stay Well
•A partnership with acclaimed Chef Ethan Stowell, who will provide locally inspired fare exclusive to this location
