Roland joined Euronews from CNN international on 6th January. He is based at the Euronews London office, from where he will be leading the Diversification team in Lyon and Paris. He is a member of Euronews’ Executive Board.
Roland has 19 years of extensive experience in licensing, content sales and business development across EMEA and Asia. Before joining Euronews, Roland was Senior Commercial Director of Content Sales & Partnerships at CNN International. He was responsible for brand licensing, content partnerships and CNN Consult all across Europe, Middle East and Africa. During that time, Roland contributed to the development of franchises across Eastern Europe and was heavily involved in launching CNN Consult across EMEA, resulting in multiple partnerships, including the one with Ringier Group in Switzerland and Folio Group in Nigeria.

Last November, Euronews’ first ever franchise Euronews Albania was launched in Tirana. Partnerships have been signed with telecom groups in Georgia and Serbia to launch Euronews Georgia and Euronews Serbia in 2020, and talks are ongoing for other projects in other parts of the world. Each of the franchises are new channels set to deliver local, regional and international news to viewers in their own language.
Euronews is the number one international news channel in Europe. Worldwide, it is broadcast in 160 countries and distributed in almost 400 million homes – including 67% of homes in the European Union. Every month, Euronews reaches 141 million people, according to the latest figures of the Global Web Index.
