The FINANCIAL — Since July 1, 2015, Uzbekistan imposes additional import duties on the goods from Ukraine for one year, declared Alexander Baldynyuk, President of the association Ukrkondprom (Ukrainian confectionary industry), on June 24.
According to the announcement, Uzbekistan formed the additional duties of 5-10% depending on the commodity line for the imports of goods originating from Ukraine. The customs value of goods is the basis for the duties calculation.
Uzbekistan decided to impose new import duties in response to activation of the similar extra import duties by Ukraine, according to APK Inform.
It should be noted that Ukraine takes the ninth position in the structure of trade turnover of Uzbekistan. According to the Uzbek data, in 2014 the volume of bilateral trade turnover totaled 607.6 mln USD. Agricultural commodities and engineering industry goods occupy the major share in the structure of Ukrainian imports to Uzbekistan.
