The FINANCIAL — As of May 5, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 4.74 mln ha, or 66% of the plan, as opposed to 6.02 mln ha on the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, Ukrainian agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 2.573 mln ha (57%), according to APK-Inform.
At the same time, Ukraine completed planting spring barley, oats and peas, and started planting buckwheat, millet and rice. As of the reporting date, the planted areas of buckwheat reached 9 thsd ha (8%), millet – 10 thsd ha (10%), and rice – 4 thsd ha (41%).
Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 2.478 mln ha, or 57% of the forecast, and soybeans – 742 thsd ha (40%).
In addition, agrarians already completed all additional fertilizing works of winter grains and winter rapeseed.
