The FINANCIAL — WestJet on June 25 congratulated Bombardier on the delivery of its 500th Q400 aircraft.
The milestone aircraft was delivered to WestJet during a ceremony at Bombardier’s assembly site in Toronto, according to WestJet.
“The speed, reliability, guest comfort and economics offered by the Q400 have made this aircraft a cornerstone of WestJet Encore’s success,” said Ferio Pugliese, Executive Vice-President, WestJet, and President, WestJet Encore. “For more than a decade, airlines around the world have purchased the aircraft based on these reasons. Bombardier is a strong Canadian company and should be proud of this significant milestone achievement.”
WestJet Encore celebrated its second anniversary on June 24. The regional airline, a wholly owned subsidiary of WestJet, now serves 24 communities across Canada and continues to liberate Canadians from the high cost of air travel by offering more choices to more connections across the WestJet network.
New WestJet Encore routes offered in 2015 include Toronto-Quebec City, Toronto-Fredericton, Halifax-Deer Lake, Halifax-Gander and Halifax-Sydney.
